Announcing the Winner of Our Fabulous Foster Vote with Arm & Hammer™

In honor of Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, we partnered up again with our friends at Arm & Hammer Cat Litter to spread awareness and encourage everyone to consider adopting or fostering a cat in need, especially those who may be overlooked. Animal fostering is a critical part of saving lives and allows cats and dogs time in a home setting, freeing up much-needed space in shelters.

At the beginning of the month, we launched a vote asking people nationwide to choose their favorite out of four ASPCA foster cats, each of whom has spent time looking for their right match. Thousands of you voted, and we are so excited to announce that the winner is: Airy from New York City!

Airy will become the face of Arm & Hammer’s Feline Generous™ initiative, an initiative aimed at increasing the adoption of shelter cats who are often overlooked because of their age, appearance or misunderstood personalities. He will also be sent to his new home with a one year supply of Arm & Hammer litter and an adoption starter kit. And ALL of our Fabulous Foster vote contestants will receive a new home prize pack from Arm & Hammer that will be given to their adopters once they find homes.

Airy is a shy guy who is still looking for a loving home while he spends time with his foster caregiver. He’s the type who takes time to open up, but with patience and yummy treats, he learns that people are pretty okay! Chaos and ruckus are not Airy’s thing—he much prefers lounging around in mellow environments over attending or throwing parties. (But, party snacks are still appreciated!) He’d make a great fit for a family in the tri-state area who lives in a quiet home without dogs and wants a cat that appreciates a mature atmosphere.

In addition to helping host this vote, Arm & Hammer generously donated a $100,000 matching gift for our donors to help us continue our work for vulnerable animals.

“Many homeless cats need extra attention and understanding to be adopted, so we’re proud to work with Arm & Hammer on the Feline Generous initiative during Adopt a Shelter Cat month and thank them for their generous support to help us protect and assist vulnerable animals across the country,” said Matt Bershadker, ASPCA president and CEO.

We are so thankful for our friends at Arm & Hammer and for everyone who donated or participated in our vote.

We are also pleased to announce that Fabulous Foster, Amber, was adopted, but Airy, Chirpy, and Heather are all still available for adoption. If you’re in the Los Angeles area and interested in Chirpy, see her profile to fill out an application. If you’re in the tri-state area and interested in Airy or Heather, check out their profiles and fill out an application!
