For most people, exes may be the last thing on their minds during Father’s Day. However, when you’re co-parenting, that’s not really the case. Chances are, your kids may ask you to help get a gift for their papas ready for the big day, or an event might be happening when you’re all together. Some may dread Father’s Day, but these celebrities are taking this day to shout out not only their own fathers and current partners — but also their exes, the fathers of their children.

If you were on the celebrity side of social media on June 18, then chances are you noticed quite a few Father’s Day posts from A-listers that you didn’t quite expect. Specifically, ones from celebrities that feature photos of their exes.

From a carousel of photos featuring the father of their children and the step-father of their children like Zooey Deschanel to subtle, sweet captions towards their exes like Jennifer Garner, these celebrities wanted to show everyone that co-parenting is going great (and that they’re grateful for their former partners throughout the parenting journey)!

This year, we saw some super-sweet, tear-jerking moments that fans really didn’t see coming. And it just goes to show that even though these celebs may not be an item anymore, the love they have for their children is still something they share.
