Speaking her truth. April Love Geary shared a postpartum selfie two months after giving birth to her second daughter and opened up about her past abortion.
@maya.danielle inspired me to post this since I’ve been getting a bunch of DMs saying things like “how could you support abortion when you’re a mother yourself” so this is MY body, MY body after having an abortion in 2014, a miscarriage in 2017, delivering a baby in 2018 & 2019. I’m glad I was able to make decisions about MY body without facing any type of punishment. It’s scary to think that women won’t be able to choose to abort if that’s what they want/what’s necessary. “You can be anti abortion for yourself and pro choice for anyone who isn’t you because you realize you shouldn’t get to make the rules for someone else’s body and you’re not going to a single thing for the child they can’t/don’t want to carry. This is possible & necessary” @imaniorwhatever

“I was four and a half months pregnant and shooting on location in Eastern Europe,” Milla Jovovich wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, May 14. “I went into pre term labor and [was] told that I had to be awake for the whole procedure. It was one of the most horrific experiences I have ever gone through. I still have nightmares about it. I was alone and helpless. I spiraled into one of the worst depressions of my life and had to work extremely hard to find my way out. I took time off of my career.”
The actress, 43, added: “Thank God I was able to find my way out of that personal hell without turning to medication, but the memory of what I went through and what I lost will be with me till the day I die. Abortion is a nightmare at its best. No woman wants to go through that. But we have to fight to make sure our rights are preserved to obtain a safe one if we need to. I never wanted to speak about this experience. But I cannot remain silent when so much is at stake.”
